Neighborhood Paintings
Scholars will be able to: Identify and discuss
different shapes used to makes elements Horace Pippin’s neighborhood paintings,
such as, buildings, trees and people. Plan neighborhood painting
using pencils, erasers and paint. Add paint, primary,
secondary and tertiary colors, to neighborhood paintings. Create details in
neighborhood paintings using paint.
Animal Collages
Scholars will be able to: Identify and demonstrate
how to tear paper to make different background shapes from hand-painted
paper collage. Create a background using
torn paper. Identify and demonstrate
safe use of scissors to cut organic shapes with different edges from
hand-painted collage paper. Compose shapes to make a
specific jungle animal. Assemble and arrange
details using cut paper on jungle animal.
Imaginary Creatures!
Scholars will be able to:
Describe and draw imaginary creature using pencils. Use oil pastels to add color to imaginary creature.
Use two oil pastels to create a horizon line and fill in
background.
Team Sculpture Challenge
Scholars will be able to: Discuss and construct tallest sculpture as a table group
with given materials.
